The Opportunity

DMU Dubai is seeking an exceptional Academic Director to lead its academic mission and drive the next phase of development. This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence and impact.

Key Responsibilities

The Academic Director will:

1. Lead and manage all academic activities across the campus
2. Direct teaching, research, and faculty development initiatives
3. Maintain critical regulatory relationships with KHDA and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
4. Serve on the Dubai Leadership Board, reporting to the PVC International
5. Shape campus strategy and lead institutional change alongside senior colleagues
6. Contribute to DMU's broader transnational education ambitions globally
7. Chair and participate in key University committees

Essential Requirements

1. PhD in a relevant discipline with professorial or equivalent standing
2. Research or professional profile appropriate for senior academic leadership
3. Proven track record in leadership at School or Dean level
4. Experience managing financial and human resources
5. Success in building external partnerships with government and industry
6. Student-centered approach and cross-cultural sensitivity

Highly Desirable

1. Experience working in both UK higher education and the UAE/Gulf region
2. Working knowledge of Arabic
3. Understanding of the regional education landscape and culture

The Role

This is a permanent, Dubai-based position with occasional travel to the UK. The successful candidate will join a committed team dedicated to academic excellence, inclusion, and innovation, delivering programmes aligned with both UK and UAE standards.
