Nestled beside St Paul’s Cathedral, in the heart of the City of London, St Paul’s Cathedral School (SPCS) offers a market-leading preparatory education to 285 pupils aged 4-13. SPCS has a strong reputation for its holistic education, including a rich musical tradition as the home of the girls and boys of the world-famous Cathedral Choir. The School is in the enviable position of being oversubscribed, with waiting lists at all key points.

Following a recent restructure of the Bursary, St Paul’s Cathedral School is seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) to support the smooth and effective running of the School. The DFO will support the Head and Governors in all aspects of the financial management of the School, as well as having responsibility for Health and Safety, Catering and IT. The post-holder will play a key role in supporting both the daily operations as well as shaping the next phase of the School’s strategic development.

This post offers excellent opportunities for significant contribution and change management as the School delivers its five-year development plan and progresses preparations for a substantial increase in the Chorister programme (from 30 to 60 boarding pupils across the next two years).

The successful candidate will bring a combination of expertise and innovation to the role. They will be a problem-solver who enjoys creative thinking and systems improvement, understands compliance requirements and is able to lead and inspire teams in order to get things done. Existing school experience would be welcomed but is not a prerequisite.

The closing date for applications is 08:30 BST on Thursday 8th January 2026.
