UCC wishes to appoint an experienced academic to the role of Professor in the School of Public Health, reporting to the Head of School of Public Health. We are seeking an established and innovative academic leader to join the School of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health, University College Cork as Professor of Public Health. This role is designed for an exceptional candidate who possesses a robust track record in public health research, education, health policy and community engagement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of public health education and research, fostering collaborations across disciplines, and mentoring the next generation of public health professionals.


The School of Public Health is the largest and highest-ranking School of Public Health in Ireland with a high-quality teaching and education programme and a research programme led by world-leading researchers. The School offers a dynamic environment for research development, innovation and capacity building with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration with longstanding partners at national and international level.


The School of Public Health is part of the College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork. The School’s mission is to improve the health of the population through the discovery, dissemination, and translation of knowledge about the fundamental determinants of health, the prevention of disease, the protection and promotion of health and wellbeing, the development and application of effective interventions and healthcare technologies, the optimal delivery of health services and preparedness in responding to public health emergencies.
