Join Us to Make a Lasting Impact in Global Conservation

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a global non-profit conservation organisation dedicated to saving wildlife and wild places through science, conservation action, education, and by inspiring people to value nature. With the largest and longest-standing field conservation programme in the world, WCS works with governments, Indigenous Peoples and local communities in more than 55 countries, conserving over 27 million square kilometres of the planet’s most ecologically significant land and seascapes.

We are currently seeking a Director of Philanthropy, Europe to play a pivotal role in advancing our global conservation mission by significantly expanding high-value philanthropic support across Europe. This senior leadership role will build and steward relationships with philanthropic individuals and foundations capable of making transformational gifts. Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors with the capacity to give at the $1 million+ level, the Director will be responsible for developing a robust European pipeline and for doubling private philanthropic support from Europe-based donors to $20 million annually.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the Director will secure major philanthropic commitments, design tailored donor engagement strategies and ensure exceptional stewardship. The role will also act as a senior ambassador for WCS across key European philanthropic networks, with particular emphasis on family offices and high-net-worth collaborations.

The successful candidate will bring substantial senior-level fundraising experience within the non-profit sector in Europe, including a demonstrable track record of securing seven- and eight-figure gifts. You will be a strategic, credible and persuasive communicator, comfortable operating at the highest level with sophisticated donors and partners, and motivated by the opportunity to deliver conservation impact at the global scale.

The role is based in Europe and the salary competitive in line with the seniority of the role.

The deadline for applications is Monday 16th March, 9:00am GMT.
