Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), this newly created role will lead the Group's innovation, commercialisation, knowledge exchange and external engagement agenda, helping establish LASE University Group as a recognised leader in research-led innovation and impact.
The successful candidate will drive the translation of research excellence into economic, social and environmental impact through the development of a high-performing innovation ecosystem. This will include strengthening partnerships with industry, investors, government and funders; growing innovation and commercialisation income; developing pathways for intellectual property, spin-outs and start-ups; and enhancing the Group's performance in knowledge exchange and impact.
Working across the newly formed University Group, the PVC will play a pivotal role in shaping a unified research and innovation community, fostering an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture, and creating the infrastructure, platforms and partnerships that enable innovation at scale. The role will also support the development of innovation hubs, accelerators and mission-led programmes aligned with regional and national priorities.
We are seeking a strategic, influential and externally focused leader with a strong track record in research and innovation, commercialisation, partnership development and organisational leadership.
