One of the preeminent international schools in India, The American School of Bombay (ASB) is a strong values-driven community with a reputation for excellence and innovation. Offering a rigorous American and IB curriculum to a diverse, globally minded student body, ASB combines quality teaching and learning with a culture defined by care, connection, and inclusion.

The Board of Trustees now seeks an outstanding Head of School to lead ASB through the next stage of its journey. This is an exciting opportunity to build on the school’s many strengths while clarifying and articulating a compelling value proposition in an increasingly competitive market and rapidly evolving international education landscape.

The Head of School will play a central role in strengthening ASB’s profile, supporting sustainable enrollment growth, and ensuring the school’s distinctiveness is clearly communicated to current and prospective families. The post calls for a visible, relational leader who can inspire a talented leadership and staff team and thrive at the heart of a small, diverse, and highly engaged community.

The Board welcomes applications from experienced Heads of School as well as accomplished senior leaders ready to step into headship. The ideal candidate will bring strong international experience, ideally in comparable markets and locations, alongside cultural agility and a sound understanding of the business dimensions of successful school leadership. A community builder by nature, the next Head of School will be an outstanding communicator with the warmth, presence, and credibility to build trust across the school community and to articulate ASB’s mission, values, and ambitions with clarity and conviction. Deep alignment with ASB’s values and a commitment to excellence, inclusion, and belonging are essential.
