Corvinus University of Budapest is appointing professors in artificial intelligence as part of a coordinated cluster hire. The three new permanent positions sit in AI in Supply Chain Management, AI in Communication and AI in Energy.

Professor, AI in Communication

The Role

This professorship will lead the Department's work on AI in communication, with a focus on digital media or visual communication. The appointee will be a senior academic presence in a young department, shaping research and teaching and mentoring colleagues.

Research

1. Develop and lead an internationally visible research agenda in AI in digital media and/or visual communication
2. Publish in leading international journals and secure external research funding
3. Build collaborations across the University and with international partners

Teaching and supervision

1. Teach at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels and help steer the Department's educational development
2. Supervise PhD students and support early-career colleagues
3. Coordinate and mentor junior lecturers

The Ideal Candidate

Academic career

1. PhD in communication, media studies or a related field
2. Appointment at Associate or Full Professor level

Track record

1. Research expertise in communication or media studies, combined with strong knowledge of AI, with a focus on digital media or visual communication
2. A strong publication record in leading international journals
3. Experience of international research projects and externally funded research
4. Teaching experience across levels and experience of PhD supervision

Personal attributes

1. A collaborative colleague who works easily across departments and disciplines
2. An international network and the energy to build new partnerships
3. Committed to teaching and to mentoring junior colleagues, and keen to build the Department over the long term
