Cancer Council Australia is seeking an innovative and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead our national mission to reduce the impact of cancer for all Australians. As the face and leader behind one of the country’s most respected not-for-profit organisations, the CEO will be responsible for shaping and implementing strategic direction, fostering innovation in cancer prevention, research, and national policy development.
In this pivotal role, the CEO will provide strategic leadership across national cancer control initiatives, working collaboratively with State and Territory Cancer Council federation members across Australia, the Federal government, research institutions, and community partners. A key part of the role involves advocating for evidence-based policy and equitable access to information and care for all Australians. The CEO will also be expected to inspire and lead a high-performing team, upholding Cancer Council’s core values of integrity, compassion, and excellence.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with proven executive experience in the health, research, or not-for-profit sectors. A deep understanding of public health and the Australian healthcare landscape, along with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be driven by a passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
