Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Every day, around 750 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatment and care.

Every day, patients, families and staff face extraordinary challenges as they battle the most complex illnesses.

And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world.

This extraordinary NHS Hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Today, the Charity stops at nothing to help give seriously ill children the best chance and best childhoods possible. We do this through research, care and advocacy, funding groundbreaking projects such as the Children’s Cancer Centre (due to open in 2028) and our historic ‘Build it Beat it’ £300m appeal. Our strategy is built around the three pillars of impact, income, and partnerships and is underpinned by the enablers of culture, digital transformation, and innovation.

We are looking for two Trustees to join our Board and contribute to the Board’s objectives which are rooted in maximising impact for seriously ill children, securing sustainable income, and strengthening partnerships.

The Charity is keen to identify exceptional Trustees who will be committed and passionate members of the Board, and will be comfortable contributing to strategic discussions at a senior level on a wide range of issues. Trustees are likely to have operated at a senior or expert level in their field of expertise; in this instance, GOSH Charity is particularly interested in individuals who can add value to the Grants and Impact Committee and the Property and Development Committee, given several of our longstanding Trustees serving on these committees are coming to the ends of their terms. Above all, they should have a keen interest and enthusiasm for the work of the Charity and the Hospital.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification to https://plusportal.perrettlaver.com/ reference 8058. The deadline for applications is 13th October 2025.

This is a voluntary role and is unremunerated. Reasonable expenses will be covered.

Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver in late October and the Nominations Committee will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist for the post in early November following which, formal interviews with GOSH Charity will take place late November.
