The American College of Greece (ACG) is seeking an Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA) to serve as the institution’s senior academic officer. Europe’s oldest and largest accredited American college, ACG educates more than 8,000 students across four divisions: Pierce (secondary education), Deree (undergraduate and graduate studies), the ALBA Graduate School of Business and the Global Campus which delivers online programs.
Reporting directly to the President and serving on the President’s Cabinet, the EVPAA provides strategic academic leadership and coordination across all higher education academic units, including Deree, ALBA, the Global Campus, and the University Legal Entity (ULE), which is currently being established to deliver academic programs fully recognized by the Greek state. The role ensures academic excellence, coherence, quality assurance, and innovation across the institution.
The EVPAA serves as Chief Academic Officer for Deree, with full responsibility for undergraduate and graduate academic administration, faculty leadership, curricula, and academic policy. While academic leaders of ALBA and the ULE report directly to the President, the EVPAA serves as the principal academic authority for day-to-day academic coordination and institutional alignment, acting as first among equals within ACG’s academic leadership structure. The Global Campus reports directly to the EVPAA.
Key Responsibilities
> Provide institution-wide academic leadership, strategy, and quality assurance
> Oversee academic programs, faculty affairs, and governance for Deree and the Global Campus
> Coordinate academic standards, accreditation, and policy alignment across ALBA and the ULE
> Advance curriculum innovation, research activity, faculty development, and student success
> Lead accreditation and regulatory compliance at national and international levels
> Support academic partnerships, interdisciplinary initiatives, and enrolment planning.
Qualifications
A terminal degree and a distinguished record of senior academic leadership are required, along with experience in governance, accreditation, budgeting, and collaborative institutional leadership. Experience in American-style, international, or multi-unit higher education environments is preferred.
