Axiom Maths is a registered charity with a mission to help every child with the head and heart for maths realise their potential. We believe that maths can transform lives and nations, and that access to that power should never depend on a child’s background.  

We identify children with mathematical promise, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and guide them towards mathematical excellence. The backbone of our approach is maths circles, where small groups of pupils come together with a trained mentor to tackle challenging problems for fun. Over five years they build a rich knowledge of mathematics whilst establishing behaviours and relationships that set them up for long-term success. 

We are now seeking an exceptional Partnerships Director to lead and deepen our relationships with schools across England and Wales. This is a senior role in a fast-growing organisation, suited to someone who thrives in a high-trust environment and wants to shape a programme already reaching thousands of pupils. Our partnerships programme has expanded rapidly, growing from around 100 schools to over 700, and from approximately 1,000 pupils to around 13,000. The next phase will require a leader who can take an already successful team to the next level, making maths circles a universal feature of schools in England and Wales. 

Reporting to CEO, David Thomas OBE, you will manage a team of regional leaders responsible for school relationships. Your job is to help them be wildly successful in achieving our mission in their regions. Experience in education partnerships is valuable, but we are primarily looking for someone with ambition, creativity and a track record of making exciting things happen. You do not need to be a maths specialist, but you do need to care deeply about opportunity, social mobility and ensuring talent is not wasted.
