The University of Surrey has a strong legacy of pioneering research, real-world impact and graduate success. We are proud of our dual strength in teaching and research, consistently ranked among the UK's top universities for student satisfaction, teaching quality and graduate employability. Our community of talented staff and students is characterised by curiosity, creativity and shared purpose. Within this thriving environment, our Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences covers the core engineering disciplines of aeronautical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, electronic engineering and mechanical engineering alongside the specific disciplines of chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics. Surrey has a long-standing reputation for excellence across engineering, advanced technologies, computing, mathematics, space, communications and related disciplines. Our history of innovation - from pioneering small satellite technology to global leadership in 5G and 6G research - reflects a distinctive combination of academic strength, practical relevance and strong external engagement.

We are seeking a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean to lead the Faculty through its next phase of growth and distinction. Working closely with the Vice-Chancellor, Provost, and colleagues across the institution, and as a key member of the University's Executive Board, the postholder will provide confident, visible leadership that strengthens research intensity, educational excellence and international reach.

You will provide strategic and academic leadership to the Faculty, setting direction, driving performance and building a strong, inclusive culture that delivers high-quality education and research to the highest academic and professional standards. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of a Faculty with ambitious plans for growth, innovation and global impact, aligned with the aspirations of Vision 2041.
