MSF USA is one of 24 MSF sections worldwide. Each is governed by an association made up of current and former MSF staff members who elect a board of directors, define strategic direction, and hold the section accountable for its work. MSF’s US office comprises 253 people who support the organization’s medical humanitarian action through staff recruitment, fundraising, communications and awareness-raising, and advocacy.
The Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) will be a strategic, values-driven leader responsible for cultivating a strong, inclusive, and mission-aligned organizational culture. Leading the People & Culture function, the CPCO will design and implement people strategies, systems, and practices that support organizational growth and advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
The ideal Chief People & Culture Officer is an experienced, values-driven leader with a deep commitment to anti-racism, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, with a proven track record of advancing equitable systems, recruiting and retaining diverse talent, and stewarding inclusive, high-performing cultures. They have experience leading across diverse, international contexts and pair strong strategic and business acumen with the ability to anticipate future needs and translate insight into action. Known for exceptional relationship-building, collaboration, and influence, the CPCO excels at leading across differences, coaching diverse teams, and partnering with executive leadership to strengthen organizational impact. The successful applicant will be able to comfortably balance working with a local workforce and organization and straddle and build working relationships and represent MSFUSA in international fora within the MSF global movement.

This position is based at MSF USA Headquarters in New York, NY with a hybrid working pattern. The candidate must be willing to travel for work as needed. The salary range for the position is $197,984 - $306,875. In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are generally offered a salary between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
