Principal – Yiramalay Studio School

Make a real difference in the lives of Indigenous young people.

Studio Schools of Australia (SSA) was established in 2019 to bring about a “system” level change in secondary education for Indigenous students in remote communities across northern Australia.

SSA’s mission in working in strong partnership with remote Indigenous communities is to co-deliver a model of education rich in Indigenous language and culture. This will enable Indigenous students to lead their own advancement and to take a valuable and meaningful place in their own communities and within Australia.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the school’s operations, staff, and programs in partnership with local Indigenous communities

• Create a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment

• Drive student engagement and achievement through innovative learning models

• Build strong relationships with local Indigenous community and industry partners

What we are looking for:

• A qualified secondary educator with Principal leadership and residential experience, or senior leadership role, preferably in an Indigenous setting

• Strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills

• Commitment to trauma-informed practice and student wellbeing

Why you will love this role:

• Lead a nationally significant educational model in Indigenous education

• Enjoy a role that blends leadership, innovation, and cultural engagement

• Live and work in one of Australia’s most unique and beautiful regions
