Tecnológico de Monterrey - 8571

Faculty of Excellence

Distinguished Professor of Music Technology and Production

School of Humanities and Education

Founded in 1943, Tecnológico de Monterrey's the largest private, non-profit, multi-campus university system in Mexico and Latin America, with 26 campuses nationwide and a vision for 2030 built on leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship for human flourishing. Its Faculty of Excellence initiative, launched in 2021, is the institution's flagship commitment to attracting internationally recognised professors and thought leaders who will generate knowledge, lead high-impact projects and shape the experience of students and colleagues across the institution.

The School of Humanities and Education (EHE) is now seeking an internationally recognised leader in music production to join the institution as a full-time Faculty of Excellence Professor of Music Technology and Production. This is a rare opportunity to build a distinctive, industry-facing music production platform in Mexico, connecting Tec's national scale and student body with Latin American and global music, studio, label, brand and festival networks.

Campus Monterrey is investing significantly in a new critical listening, mastering and Atmos lab for the programme, benchmarked against comparable facilities internationally and is expected to be one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in Latin America. The successful candidate will lead the projects and teaching that bring this new space to life.

The successful candidate will be a senior figure of genuine standing in the field, with a record of high-level production achievement and the recognition that accompanies it. They will bring that credibility into an academic setting: teaching and mentoring students, developing curriculum and studio provision, building industry partnerships and sponsorships, and raising the international visibility of music production at Tecnologico de Monterrey. The role will suit a producer-educator who wants to shape an ecosystem rather than simply contribute to one.

The appointment is full-time and based at the Monterrey campus, and involves an undergraduate teaching commitment alongside the candidate's wider industry and leadership activity.

To apply, please submit a CV and a covering letter detailing how you meet the role description and person specification by quoting reference 8571. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on 6 September.

Remuneration will be internationally competitive and is determined on a case-by-case basis, reflecting the candidate's experience, standing and circumstances. Tecnológico de Monterrey provides dedicated relocation support for new faculty members and their families.

Tecnológico de Monterrey is committed to building a diverse and inclusive academic community and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, irrespective of nationality, gender, age, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation or socio-economic background. Appointments are made on merit. Reasonable adjustments are available at any stage of the recruitment process on request.
