The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is entering a new era through Vision 2030, with arts and culture at the center of its social and economic transformation. As part of this ambitious agenda, a new University has been announced as the first in the MENA region and it will be dedicated entirely to arts and culture. This pioneering institution offers an unparalleled range of programs spanning music, theatre, film, literature, heritage, architecture, design, visual arts, and culinary arts - from vocational training through to doctoral research. 

We are now seeking to appoint outstanding individuals inspired by shaping young musicians and laying the foundations for a new music industry. 


We are currently hiring lecturers for the College of Music, specifically for the following roles:  


  1. Lecturer in Composition & Music Theory 
  2. Lecturer in Voice 
  3. Lecturer in Piano 
  4. Lecturer in Performance 


About the College of Music 

The College of Music will offer BA programmes in Music, with pathways in Performance, Composition and Production, Music Education, and the Music Industry, alongside diplomas and postgraduate degrees (Master’s and PhD). The College will play a central role in developing the future music and music-education workforce across the Kingdom. 

The programmes will encompass both Saudi, Arabic, and international musical traditions, and will incorporate industry-embedded learning, including professional placements integrated into the degree programmes. 


Qualifications 

  1. Master’s degree or higher in Music, Music Performance, Composition, Music Technology, or a closely related field 
  2. Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level 
  3. A portfolio of significant performances, compositions, recordings, publications, or professional achievements 
  4. Strong grounding in music theory, music history, and/or applied music practices 
  5. Fluency in English and Arabic  


Responsibilities 

  1. Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures, workshops, rehearsals, and practical studio sessions 
  2. Design and assess assignments, performances, projects, and examinations 
  3. Provide ongoing mentoring and one-on-one academic support to students 
  4. Supervise student performances, compositions, and recordings across all stages of development 
  5. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program enhancement 
  6. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional initiatives 
  7. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and multicultural learning environment 
  8. Provide constructive, actionable feedback that supports student musicianship, creativity, artistic growth, and critical thinking 


Preferred Profile 

  1. An active musician, composer, or music practitioner with a national or international professional profile 
  2. Demonstrated engagement with concerts, festivals, recordings, conferences, industry events, or professional organizations 
  3. Ability to communicate complex musical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner 
  4. A creative practitioner or researcher whose work contributes meaningfully to the artistic and intellectual life of the College of Music
