Join us to defend the sexual and reproductive health and rights of all people

Change Makers Wanted

International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is the world’s largest civil society organisation advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). For over 70 years, we have worked through a global network of Member Associations and Collaborative Partners to deliver lifesaving services and champion human rights. Guided by Strategy 2028, we are transforming our Federation to be more locally owned, globally connected and boldly progressive in advancing SRHR, gender justice and human rights.

We are now seeking a dynamic Regional MA Support & Development Director for the Africa Region, based in Nairobi. Reporting to the Regional Director, this pivotal role will lead the integrated support, growth, and development of our Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners (CPs). The Director will bring together all MA-facing work, fostering collaboration, strengthening organisational performance and enabling a vibrant, well-connected regional ecosystem.

You will create the frameworks, relationships and learning environments that help MAs and CPs thrive - building a clear understanding of their capacities and contexts, driving integrated programming, and aligning resources with strategic priorities. You will champion innovation, support pathways to membership for new partners, mobilise development opportunities, and ensure high-quality data, governance and accountability across the region. As a senior leader, you will build and mentor a diverse, high-performing team and serve as a regional focal point for Safe Report incident management.

We are looking for an experienced SRHR leader with a strong record in multi-country or regional programme delivery, financial management, partnership-building and organisational development. You will understand the political and social dynamics shaping SRHR in the Africa Region, and bring excellent communication, influencing and horizon-scanning skills as well as strong leadership and people management skills. Fluency in English and French OR Portuguese is essential; additional regional languages are an asset.

Most importantly, you will embody IPPF’s values: an intersectional, pro-feminist commitment to SRHR and justice, anti-racism, inclusion, safeguarding and the rights of all people - regardless of sexuality, gender identity, expression or background.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification below. The deadline for applications is 9am GMT Monday 12th January. The reference code for this role is, 8169.

The role is based in Nairobi, and the Salary is $114,000.
