Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) is unique among other international schools in Hong Kong. DBIS now invites applications for an outstanding Head of Secondary to lead and further develop its expanding Secondary phase. This is a significant opportunity to provide strategic leadership within a well-established team of highly experienced and dedicated staff.


The successful candidate will be an outstanding educationalist with the experience and strategic skills to inspire our diverse community and lead our high-performing Secondary senior leadership and middle leadership teams. Warm and engaging, our next Head of Phase will combine academic ambition with a commitment to excellence and will bring the wisdom to balance change with continuity and consolidation. A track record of successful, relevant senior leadership with evidence of curriculum innovation, as well as outstanding examination outcomes, is essential. We are seeking a colleague who has a genuine resonance with DBIS’s distinctive ethos and values.


The Head of Secondary will be offered a three-year, renewable contract.


DBIS has retained the services of Perrett Laver to help identify the widest possible field of suitable candidates and assist in the assessment of applicants against the requirements for the role. An executive search exercise is being undertaken alongside the public advertisement of the post.


Applicants should submit a CV (including comprehensive details of key achievements and responsibilities) along with a covering letter which fully addresses the competencies outlined in the role description and person specification and outlines their interest in DBIS.
