The International Director of Business Development and Innovation is a transformative leader driving Cordaid’s growth, resource mobilization, and innovation in an evolving global funding landscape. Based in the Netherlands, you will shape and execute bold strategies that diversify and expand Cordaid’s fundraising portfolio, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with its dual mandate in Humanitarian Aid and Official Development Assistance.

With entrepreneurial vision and sector expertise, the Director will pioneer innovative funding models, embed Locally Led Development principles, and leverage technology and data to enhance agility, efficiency, and impact. By cultivating high-level partnerships and unlocking new donor opportunities—from private foundations to social enterprises—this role will secure sustainable resources while positioning Cordaid as a bold, entrepreneurial, and impact-driven partner.

This role calls for a visionary strategist and inspiring communicator who can seamlessly bridge business development, advocacy, and innovation. As a senior representative of the organization, you will engage directly with donors, institutions, and coalitions—deputizing for the CEO when needed—and amplify Cordaid’s global influence through strategic advocacy, coalition-building, and compelling external communications. You will elevate Cordaid’s visibility, credibility, and reputation as a thought leader across the sector.

You will drive Cordaid’s mission forward through cutting-edge fundraising and programmatic initiatives, build and sustain meaningful partnerships across institutional, corporate, and private sectors, and shape policy and funding landscapes while collaborating across teams to maximize results and global impact. You will bring strong sectoral expertise and understand how to pivot the organisation towards stronger long-term fundraising. You will be adept at working alongside partners and civil society actors to bolster a new ecosystem for collaborative fundraising.

If you are an entrepreneurial, strategic and innovative individual with good understanding of resource mobilisation, we look forward to hearing from you.
