A better world is possible when we transform it together.

Education Development Center (EDC) is a global nonprofit that works with partners to advance every person’s journey to learn, work, and be well. For more than 65 years, EDC has partnered with communities, governments, and private sector to improve education, workforce development and health outcomes.

By combining interdisciplinary expertise with real-world experience, EDC works across these pillars to design, implement, and scale evidence-based solutions that help partners address complex challenges and create lasting change.

Founded in 1958, EDC today brings together a global team working across the United States and around the world. Our diverse portfolio of programs is supported by federal agencies, philanthropic foundations, multilateral institutions, and corporate partners.

EDC is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership, playing a pivotal role in shaping the organization's long-term financial vision and sustainability. This is a rare opportunity for a bold, forward-thinking financial leader to move well beyond traditional stewardship to influencing organization-wide strategy, exploring innovative funding models and AI applications, as well as partnering across the organization in service of advancing EDC’s next chapter of growth and impact. The CFO will bring strategic clarity to complex financial decisions, translate risk into opportunity, and ensure EDC's financial health empowers rather than constrains its mission. Leading a talented finance team and acting as a trusted voice at the Board level, this leader will combine rigorous financial oversight with the vision, curiosity, and initiative to drive EDC forward.

The salary for the role will be $280-300,000 USD, dependent upon experience. The role location is flexible but the CFO will be expected to be present in the Waltham, MA office at least twice a month, preferably bi-weekly.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. At this time, the EDC is unable to support employment-based visa sponsorship.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter detailing how you fulfil the role description. The deadline for applications is May 5th, 2026 at 12:00 pm ET.
